The online sports betting scene in New York has gained yet another operator in its ever-growing market. WynnBET launched its online and mobile sports betting platform in NY on Friday, February 4, 2022, becoming the seventh active operator in the Empire State.

Of the initial nine sportsbooks approved by the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC), Bally Bet and Resorts World are the two remaining brands that have yet to launch.

WynnBET’s launch comes with a slate of promotions, including a Bet $10 Win $200 offer, giving new customers the chance to unlock $200 in free bets.

NY is WynnBET’s 8th US State

With this launch, New York becomes the eighth US state in which WynnBET offers its sports betting services.

The operator was not among the first half a dozen brands to go live during January, the first month of legal mobile sports betting in the state. With its delayed entry, the operator has some catching up to do in order to secure a portion of the market share. However, its arrival may have come at just the right time with the penultimate US live sporting event of the year right around the corner.

WynnBET beginning operations in New York is a monumental step in the growth of our company,” said Wynn Interactive President Ian Williams. “New York represents a significant population of our Wynn Rewards membership and we are confident in our ability to compete in this market by providing the first-class service and gaming experiences synonymous with the Wynn Resorts brand.”

The state has enjoyed a spectacular start for sports betting. According to data released by the NYSGC, the overall handle for January surpassed $1.6 billion. Active operators generated nearly $113 million in gross gaming revenue.

Only four operators had satisfied all regulatory requirements in time to kick things off on January 8 — the official launch date of the regulated NY online sports betting market. BetRivers, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings Sports NY, and FanDuel were able to go live and start accepting bets that very first weekend.

The NYSGC stated that additional operators would go live on a rolling basis, once they, too, had satisfied the regulatory requirements. Since then, another two brands have received their final stamps of approval and launched in New York. Midway through January, BetMGM was the first to join the pack. Some two weeks later, PointsBet joined the fray as well.

Several Valuable Promotions on Offer

All WynnBet customers gain access to the nationwide Wynn Rewards loyalty program. Patrons can unlock a variety of real-life experiences and benefits that can be used at Wynn Resorts’ properties across the entire country.

The first wave of promotions in New York will certainly please casual sports bettors.

Thanks to the Bet $10 Win $200 offer, new customers will receive $200 in free bets. Only a few simple steps are required to unlock the bonus. Upon successful account registration and a minimum deposit of at least $10, patrons simply have to place a $10 first-time straight bet or parlay wager with odds of -120 or greater to take advantage of it.

Through WynnBET Weekdays, patrons who win, lose, or push more than $50 of bets between Monday and Friday will earn a $10 Free Bet on the following Monday. The same reward is also up for grabs in the Basketball Parlay Bonus based upon more than $20 of bets on 4+ parlays for College Basketball (CBB) or NBA games played between Monday and Thursday. Both promotions require an opt-in on the WynnBET website to be eligible.

In the days to come, the latest contender in the New York mobile sports betting market can certainly look forward to plenty of traffic. According to widespread news reports, Super Bowl LVI between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams on February 13 is expected to be the most heavily wagered game in the history of US sports. Considering that nine new states — including New York — have legalized online and/or retail sports betting since last year’s Super Bowl, giving access to more than 60 million people who can legally bet on the game for the first time this year, a huge bettor turnout is sure to be expected.

Thanks to the impressive numbers throughout the first four weeks and the high population numbers, New York will surely be one of the key states contributing to those numbers during the Big Game.
