ACR Poker is offering 20 Aruba prize packages for the Moneymaker Poker Tour stop in Aruba. Each package is valued at $5,000, giving the promotion a guaranteed total value of $100,000, and the live series will feature a $400,000 guaranteed Main Event.
According to PR Newswire, the online route begins with two Beast satellites on July 12 and July 19 at 5:05pm ET. Each tournament costs $95 to enter and guarantees 10 packages, while players can also qualify for free through The Beast weekly leaderboard.
Each prize package includes a $1,700 Main Event entry, five nights at the TRYP by Wyndham Aruba from September 23 to 28, $1,000 for airfare and $1,000 in spending money. Bettingnews reported that the prizes are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
The promotion is tied to Chris Moneymaker, the Americas Cardroom pro whose 2003 run turned an $86 online satellite into a $2.5 million WSOP Main Event victory over a field of 839 players. That win helped give rise to the “Moneymaker Effect”, the shorthand for the idea that a small online buy-in can open a path to a major live tournament score.
The Moneymaker Tour Caribbean Poker Series takes place in Aruba from September 17 to 27.
