Americas Cardroom will run its Dual Venom PKO tournaments from Oct. 4, offering $6.5 million in combined guarantees across no-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha events. The $5 million NLH tournament and $1.5 million PLO tournament each carry a $2,650 direct buy-in.
The PLO event matches the operator’s largest guaranteed PKO prize pool for that game. Both tournaments have five Day 1 flights, beginning at 1:05 p.m. ET on Oct. 4, 8, 11, 15 and 18, with Day 2 set for Oct. 19 at the same time.
The progressive knockout format splits each eliminated player’s bounty between the player scoring the knockout and that winner’s own bounty. Half goes to the player scoring the knockout, while the remaining half increases that player’s own bounty. The operator said individual knockouts can grow to tens of thousands of dollars.
Venom Fever, the qualifying promotion for the two events, runs from Sept. 29 through Oct. 18. It will offer hundreds of seats through Direct Satellites, Mega Satellites and Survivor Flips Step Satellites. Survivor Flips begin at 80 cents, while some Mega Satellites provide a route from $0.
As covered in July, Americas Cardroom’s preceding Dual Mystery Bounty Venoms carried $15 million in guarantees, split between a $12 million NLH event and a $3 million PLO event. The October schedule returns the paired-event format with PKO bounties rather than mystery bounties.
The prior Dual Venom PKOs exceeded their guarantees, producing combined prize pools of $7,847,500. The NLH tournament drew 2,498 entries and generated a $6,245,000 pool, with Rigapols81 collecting more than $675,000 overall, including nearly $297,000 in bounties.
The previous PLO event attracted 641 entries for a $1,602,500 prize pool. PohPohPohPAAAA won $252,888, made up of $135,789 in regular prize money and $117,099 in bounties.
After the final Day 1 flight, the NLH event continues with Day 3 on Oct. 20. Both tournaments’ final tables are scheduled for Oct. 21 at 4:05 p.m. ET.
