PointsBet, which currently operates in nine US states, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Troon, an Arizona-based company specializing in golf-related leisure and hospitality services.

The partnership is the first of its kind in the industry and will see PointsBet become the official sports betting partner of Troon moving forward.

PointsBet will receive full access to Troon’s network of media channels, ranging from digital marketing through web, social, and print assets and sponsorship of the exclusive Troon app.

The operator will have an opportunity to expose its brand to Troon users at various events held at Troon-managed facilities. A variety of golf-oriented promotions and collaborations are in store for all PointsBet users.

The two fresh partners also announced they will launch a sporting event, the PointsBet Cup, in the near future. PointsBet VIPs will be able to visit these events as well as gain full access to hospitality at all Troon-managed facilities.

“Between our partnership with NBC Sports, The Golf Channel, and the PGA TOUR, PointsBet has shown a commitment to the sport of golf through the investment of our brand in the space,” said Eric Foote, Chief Commercial Officer for PointsBet.

PoinstBet has invested a lot of resources into the sport of golf, looking to attract fans of the sport to its brand through various partnerships and collaborations.

Back in August 2021, PointsBet named Notah Begay III as their global golf ambassador, and the four-time PGA winner has played an essential role in all actions PointsBet took in regard to golf since.

“It’s exciting to see PointsBet develop creative and constructive partnerships with brands that are committed to growing the game and reaching golfers in new and exciting ways,” Begay III said.

“This partnership with Troon makes sense on so many levels and the benefits will be felt by players and members across their portfolio of properties.”

Troon is a world leader in golf management, with as many as 630 locations across the globe, spanning 30 different countries, and 45 states within the US. The company is headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ.

Troon’s portfolio is widespread. It owns and operates a state-high 46 golf courses in Arizona, and one course in each of eight states — Arkansas, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

PointsBet users, both VIPs and otherwise, will have an opportunity to benefit from the new partnership in a variety of ways, not the least of which will be the golf-centered promotions that should be coming on the platform in the months to come.

Currently, sports bettors in New Jersey, Michigan, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Virginia, and West Virginia have access to the PointsBet app, with the Aussie-based company quickly expanding into additional markets across the US. Sports fans in New York got big news this week as PointsBet launched its sportsbook in the newly-regulated NY market on Tuesday, January 25 — making it the sixth sports betting operator to go live in the Empire State. Those in other states like Pennsylvania, where the operator just secured its mobile gaming license on January 20, and in Maryland can look forward to using the app and benefiting from the Troon partnership in the near future as well, as PointsBet is sure to spread its influence with each passing month.

It is interesting to note that both PointsBet and Troon are already partnered up with NBC Sports, the broadcaster for the PGA Tour and other golf events across the globe.
