Online wagering accounted for 75.1% of total handle and was down 3.1% in May. Mobile sportsbooks made $34 million in revenue.

Regional results also weakened. Clark County saw a larger 15.8% year-over-year revenue decline, while Washoe County operators recorded a 32.5% drop in profits compared with May 2025.

The article tied part of May’s uneven outcomes to the Vegas Golden Knights’ postseason momentum. The team went 9-2 in May with five wins coming with plus odds, yet year-over-year hockey profits were down 69%, and hockey generated $1.5 million in operator revenue.

Basketball led single-sport revenue with $13 million, while hoops profits were up nearly 4% versus the prior May. Baseball brought in $12.6 million, down 41% from last May’s record total, and “Other” sports delivered $13.7 million in operator revenue, a 28.6% year-over-year increase that included tennis, soccer, MMA, boxing, auto racing, and golf.

Football remained a drag for operators, with a $2.2 million loss in May and more than $17 million in losses over the past three months. The state also collected $2.6 million in tax revenue in May, bringing year-to-date tax revenue to past $15 million.
