Pennsylvania’s combined gaming revenue rose 4.1% year on year to $555.0 million in September, with online casino games accounting for nearly $249.3 million of the total. Gaming activity generated $242.6 million in tax revenue during the month.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s September report showed iGaming revenue rose 6.8% from a year earlier. Online slots produced $197.4 million, up 9.0%, while online table-game revenue slipped 0.6% to $49.7 million and poker revenue fell 1.8% to $2.3 million.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course led the iGaming market with $99.0 million in revenue. Valley Forge Casino Resort generated $69.8 million and Rivers Casino Philadelphia took $38.5 million. The iGaming segment generated $114.9 million in taxes.
Sports betting told a different story on wagering volume and revenue. Total handle fell 6.1% to $798.7 million, but taxable sports wagering revenue jumped 50.5% to $44.7 million from $29.7 million a year earlier. Online sportsbooks accounted for $40.3 million of that revenue, compared with $4.4 million from retail locations, while the segment generated $16.1 million in taxes.
Valley Forge led the state’s sportsbooks with $15.8 million in September revenue, followed by Hollywood Casino at the Meadows at $12.6 million. The diverging handle and revenue results mean the month’s betting increase was measured in operator revenue rather than amounts wagered.
Land-based slots added $196.2 million, a 2.4% increase from September 2025, as the number of operating machines rose to 24,523 from 24,331. Retail table-game revenue, however, fell 18.1% to $60.2 million. Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course had the highest combined retail and online revenue among casinos, at $113.6 million, up 11.8% year on year.
Elsewhere, video gaming terminal revenue declined 4.9% to $3.2 million, with five terminals offered at each of 72 qualified truck stops. Fantasy-contest revenue dropped 23.8% to $1.5 million. Happy Valley Casino, which opened in April, generated about $2.0 million in total September revenue.
The result followed an August in which Pennsylvania extended its online casino revenue lead over Michigan, as this publication reported last month. The board regulates 18 land-based casinos alongside online casino gaming, sports wagering, truck-stop terminals and online fantasy contests, and said regulated gaming generated $3.1 billion in tax and fee revenue in fiscal year 2025/26.
