Bet365 Launches Online Betting in West Virginia

bet365 has launched online sports betting and iGaming in West Virginia, making the state its 18th U.S. market. The rollout came as football season approached, and the company said its sportsbook and casino products were available to West Virginia residents aged 21 and older.

In the launch announcement, bet365 said users in the state could access its sportsbook and casino offerings, including Early Payout Offer, Daily Prize Matcher and Jackpot365. Early Payout Offer was described as settling qualifying bets as winners when a team takes a 17-point lead, regardless of the final result. Jackpot365 was described as an in-house, multi-tier progressive jackpot feature built into a betslip or casino game.

Trip Stoddard, bet365’s head of development, called West Virginia another important step in the company’s expansion across North America. He said the timing was especially apt with football season “just around the corner” and said it was an exciting time to introduce the sportsbook and casino offerings to customers across the state. The company also said the move built on its “Winning Is Everything” brand campaign, which it said focused on bettors who take a serious and strategic approach.

West Virginia has allowed online sports betting since 2018, when the legislature passed SB 415, and legalized iGaming in 2020 through HB 2934. State law says sports wagering operators may accept bets from people physically located in West Virginia through a mobile or other approved digital platform, and that bettors must be at least 21.
