WynnBET is poised for rapid expansion with several pending license applications in process.
More than 18 months after securing market access in West Virginia, WynnBET announced that it had launched its US online casino and sportsbook products in the state.
West Virginia is the 11th state for the operator, which global hospitality company Wynn Resorts owns. WynnBET announced in November 2021 that it had formed a partnership with another hospitality firm, Delaware North, for online casino and sports betting services.
Delaware North owns two casinos in West Virginia: Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack and Mardi Gras Casino & Resort. The hospitality company operates an IGT-powered sportsbook under the Betly brand in West Virginia.
With the addition of West Virginia, WynnBET now has online casinos in three states, joining Michigan and New Jersey. The operator is partnered with the tribal Kewadin Casinos in Michigan and has market access in New Jersey through a partnership with Caesars.

WynnBET Casino WV becomes the ninth online casino in West Virginia. The platform successfully launched last Thursday and had an “extensive library” of games available, “including classic casino games, live dealer blackjack and roulette, video poker, and Keno,” according to the operator.
“We would like to thank the West Virginia Lottery Commission for working with us throughout our licensure process in the state,” Wynn Sports Interactive President Ian Williams said in a statement Thursday. “We are thrilled to bring our first-class online casino and sportsbook to players in West Virginia, marking our second state launch this year and the third iCasino market to our growing portfolio.”
Williams was referring to WynnBET launching sports betting in Massachusetts earlier this year — it opened a retail sportsbook at Encore Boston Harbor, which is owned by parent Wynn Resorts, in January. An online sportsbook followed in March.
Besides Massachusetts and West Virginia, WynnBET online sportsbooks are live in an additional nine states: Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, and Virginia.
“WynnBET is poised for rapid expansion with several pending license applications in process,” the operator said. It did not identify what additional states it was trying to enter.
WynnBET is Ninth Online Casino in WV
With the addition of WynnBET, West Virginia becomes a little more popular for online casino gaming and will feature nine online casinos in total.
West Virginia’s gaming laws allow the state’s five casinos and horse racetracks to each have three skins for online casino gaming and sports betting. The three main gaming facilities in the state are the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, Mountaineer Casino, and the private Greenbrier Resort.
Hollywood and Greenbrier each have three partner operators. Barstool Casino WV, DraftKings Casino WV, and PointsBet Casino WV are on the Hollywood license, while BetMGM Casino WV, FanDuel Casino WV, and Golden Nugget Casino WV are partnered with Greenbrier.
Mountaineer has two online casino partners: BetRivers Casino WV and Caesars Casino WV.
There are currently no WV online poker operators. While legal and regulated, no operator has yet to spread the format.

WynnBET is rumored to be close to launching online casino gaming and sports betting in neighboring Pennsylvania.
Online operators are required to partner with a land-based casino in Pennsylvania, but there is no limit on the number of skins a land-based casino may have.
That said, since WynnBET has a partnership with Caesars in New Jersey, it appears likely that a future WynnBET Casino PA would launch under the license of Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack, which Caesars owns.
