ACR Poker opened its Run Up Series on Sunday, July 12, launching a five-week festival with more than $10 million in guaranteed prize pools. The schedule is built around a $1 million Mystery Bounty Multi-Flight and is being presented as a warm-up for the site’s next Venom events.
Card Player said the series runs through Aug. 17 and lists 163 tournaments. BettingNews, in separate coverage of the Run Up Leaderboard, described about 168 tournaments with buy-ins from $5.50 to $1,050, so the published counts differ slightly across reports.
The centerpiece is a $66 buy-in Mystery Bounty Multi-Flight with Day 1 flights running daily from July 12 through Aug. 17. Day 2 is set for Aug. 17, and players will chase mystery bounties that include a top prize of $100,000.
The schedule closes with three Main Events, all beginning on Aug. 16 and moving to Day 2 on Aug. 17. They are a $750,000 guaranteed event with a $1,050 buy-in, a $400,000 guaranteed event with a $215 buy-in and a $200,000 guaranteed event with a $33 buy-in.
ACR is also putting $100,000 into a leaderboard race split between High and Low tables. According to BettingNews, points go only to in-the-money finishes, using the formula √(Prize Pool) ÷ √, and no extra promotional rake is taken from buy-ins.
The top leaderboard prizes are tied to ACR’s Venom lineup. The High winner gets $10,000 plus entries into both Venom events, while the Low winner gets $5,000 and the same pair of tickets.
The Run Up is also serving as a bridge to the Dual Mystery Bounty Venoms. PRNewswire said the two events will combine for $15 million in guarantees, making them the largest pair of Venom tournaments in the company’s history.
Those Venoms consist of a $12 million guaranteed No-Limit Hold’em Mystery Bounty and a $3 million guaranteed Pot-Limit Omaha Mystery Bounty, each with a $2,650 buy-in and a record eight Day 1 flights. They begin on Aug. 13, Day 2 is set for Aug. 31, the No-Limit Hold’em event adds a Day 3 on Sept. 1 and final tables are scheduled for Sept. 2.
PRNewswire also said ACR will run a Venom Fever qualification promotion alongside the series, with more than 1,500 guaranteed seats and routes beginning at $0. Players advancing to Day 2 will already have locked up a cash finish before the mystery bounty eliminations begin.
