PrizePicks has signed Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards to a multi-year brand-ambassador partnership, making the four-time All-Star the company’s first NBA star ambassador.

Edwards will feature prominently in PrizePicks advertising and social-media campaigns. The agreement launched with a skit replying to a viral video that made fun of his signature AE3 shoes, while PrizePicks users were offered early access to the purple colorway through the company’s app.

According to PrizePicks, the arrangement is built around its “Run Your Game” campaign and extends beyond conventional advertising. Edwards said the campaign’s energy reflected his own approach and that he was looking forward to the projects they would create together.

A first production initiative will be the digital-first Believe That Awards, a satirical show created and hosted by Edwards. PrizePicks will be presenting sponsor and will run a related free-to-play game offering chances to win cash and signed AE3 shoes.

The project is being developed with Three Fifths Media, the production company created by Edwards and Justin Holland. Holland will serve as a strategic adviser on the partnership. Edwards is also set to appear alongside comedian Druski in future PrizePicks campaigns and featured content.

PrizePicks said it will contribute to Edwards’ Don’t Follow the Wave foundation, supporting its workplace-development efforts. The company operates in more than 45 jurisdictions and is an official daily fantasy sports partner of the NBA and WNBA.

The deal prompted criticism in Minnesota. State Senator John Marty called it “deeply troubling,” arguing that high-profile athletes should not promote products he characterized as addictive amid rising gambling addiction. He also described prediction markets as unregulated sports gambling that uses AI algorithms to target vulnerable people.

GamblingHarm.org noted that Minnesota had enacted a law in May 2025 criminalising the operation and promotion of prediction markets, but enforcement was blocked before it took effect. On July 27, 2025, U.S. District Judge Katherine Menendez issued a preliminary injunction protecting exchanges registered as designated contract markets with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, finding challengers were likely to prevail on federal-preemption claims. The ruling was not final.

The Edwards signing followed PrizePicks’ July 2025 appointment of KLUTCH Sports Group as a strategic brand adviser on talent strategy, brand development and relationship-building across sports and entertainment. At the time, PrizePicks said the collaboration was intended to help it expand beyond traditional fantasy sports and build its presence in sports and entertainment culture.
