According to Sports Betting Dime, U.S. online casino revenue in May reached $1.03 billion across the seven legal iGaming states. It was the fifth time in the last six months that the sector topped $1 billion.

The total was up 14.7% from May 2025 and 2.4% from April 2026. Sports Betting Dime said the year-over-year gains were slowing compared with the end of 2025, and May was the second consecutive month in which the increase was under $132 million.

Through the first five months of 2026, U.S. iGaming revenue stood at $5.04 billion, putting the market on pace to surpass $12 billion for the year. The first monthly total above $1 billion came in December.

Six of the seven legal online casino states posted year-over-year gains of at least 10% in May, with Connecticut the only exception at 4.3%. Sports Betting Dime said Michigan remained the standout growth market, with year-over-year online casino growth above 20% throughout 2026.

Michigan’s Gaming Control Board said commercial and tribal operators generated $382.5 million in combined internet gaming and online sports betting gross receipts in May, up 3.1% from April. It reported $305.8 million from iGaming and $76.7 million from online sports betting, with combined adjusted gross receipts of $316.72 million.

The regulator said 15 commercial and tribal operators were authorised to offer iGaming and or online sports betting in May, with 13 offering online sports betting and all 15 offering iGaming. Operators submitted $64.2 million in taxes and payments to the state.
