BetMGM Poker is bringing back its Online Summer Classic for players in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Michigan, with 22 events and $232,000 in guaranteed prizes spread across five days.
The series begins on Friday and features buy-ins from $10 to $500, according to Pokerfuse. Individual event guarantees range from $2,000 to $75,000.
BetMGM’s blog said qualifiers began on July 5, and it set tournament start times between 5 pm and 9:30 pm. The operator described the series as aimed at sports lovers, specifically baseball fans, as well as recreational and experienced poker players.
The qualifying structure is broad. Daily $10, $25 and $50 satellites run from July 5 to July 14, giving players direct routes into the $250 and $500 events.
BetMGM said $10 qualifiers can win seats to Event 9, a $250 buy-in, while $25 qualifiers can reach Event 19, a $500 event. The $50 satellites can get players into both of the higher buy-in tournaments.
There are also two $25 satellites early on July 14 for that night’s $500 Grand Slam, the blog said. Pokerfuse reported that satellites are already running on the platform ahead of the series.
A leaderboard will run for the duration of the series, with points based on how many events a player enters. BetMGM said the top five finishers will receive complimentary sports bets, with up to $1,000 in bets available as the extra prize.
The Summer Classic Spin the Wheel promotion runs alongside the series from July 10 to July 14. Players must opt in and play at least one event in a day, and each spin can deliver up to $500 in casino bonus money.
