DraftKings Focused on “Being a Leader in Responsible Gaming”

We are refining the customer experience by focusing on responsible gaming education & supporting research in this area for our customers & the industryDraftKings has published its 2021 Sustainability Report that focuses on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues at its core. The online gambling company says it hopes to become “the gold standard for responsible gaming amongst operators” and wants to take a “stance” in order to do so.

The report outlines all that DraftKings has achieved in this area during 2021, including its achievements within the community, employee engagement, environmental stewardship, and responsible gambling initiatives including DraftKings S.E.R.V.E.S — a program designed to look holistically at engagement with customers and employees in community building, business, and skills mentorships.

Highlights of the DraftKings 2021 Sustainability Report

[DraftKings] is committed to being a leader in responsible gaming.“[DraftKings] is committed to being a leader in responsible gaming. We are refining the customer experience by focusing on responsible gaming education and supporting research in this area for our customers and the industry at large,” CEO Jason Robins said in the report.

DraftKings RG efforts during 2021 included focusing on training and educating both players and staff, making sure all advertising adhered to the American Gaming Association (AGA) standards, help fund research into problem gambling, improved platform tools, detection, and intervention.

“Through our employee training and education efforts, marketing and advertising practices, engagement with our partners and affiliations, development of robust in-product tools and resources, and detection and intervention protocols, we are building a responsible gaming approach that meets the needs of the moment for our customers and the industry at large,” Robins went on to add in the report.

“We plan to continue to expand our training and education programs, increase the customizability for safer play experiences, enhance and promote RG messaging, and fund on-going research,” the RG slide on the presentation reads. Core areas DraftKings will target include:

  • Launch the State Council Fund.
  • Increase the adaptiveness of the “safer play experience” online.
  • Expand education and training programs across the board.
  • Enhance and promote responsible gambling messaging to players.
