The seven legal U.S. iGaming states generated $1.02 billion in gross online casino revenue in September, extending the sector’s run above $1 billion to three consecutive months. The total was 12.9% higher than the $902.5 million recorded a year earlier, an increase of $116.7 million.
The result followed August’s matching $1.02 billion national total, as reported in September. Seven of the first nine months of 2026 have now exceeded the $1 billion mark, taking year-to-date gross online casino revenue to $9.09 billion, according to Sports Betting Dime.
All seven markets grew from a year earlier in September, with each recording at least 6.5% growth and four expanding by 15% or more. The pace of annual dollar growth nevertheless slowed: September 2025 was $190.3 million ahead of the same month in 2024, compared with this September’s $116.7 million rise. Revenue was still $307 million higher than it had been two years earlier.
The national series measures gross gaming revenue before promotional spending is deducted. That distinction matters in state comparisons, since regulators may publish adjusted figures that remove promotional costs.
New Jersey’s casinos and their partners reported $274.8 million in Internet Gaming Win for September, up 13% from $243.1 million a year earlier, according to the state Division of Gaming Enforcement. Its online win reached $2.40 billion through nine months, a 13.2% increase from the comparable 2025 period.
Pennsylvania illustrates the differing measures used in market reporting. Crossing Broad put the state’s September gross iGaming revenue at $316.8 million, down 3.6% from August but 10.5% above September 2025, and noted that the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reports adjusted revenue after promotional spending. Separately, Focus Gaming News reported $249.3 million in Pennsylvania online casino gaming revenue, up 6.82% year over year.
Pennsylvania’s gross iGaming total was its fourth-highest monthly result of 2026 and left revenue for the first nine months 12.6% ahead of the prior-year period. The state’s online casinos averaged $315.6 million a month over that period.
