PokerStars on FanDuel has launched a Nightly Stars Leaderboard, a two-week promotion that will hand out $2,500 a week in tournament tickets to players who cash in qualifying nightly events.
According to pokerfuse, players earn one leaderboard point for every $1 they cash in qualifying Nightly Stars tournaments, and the weekly prizes go to the top 73 finishers. Players can check their standings in the Leaderboards section of the poker client, and the tickets awarded through the promo expire 21 days after they are issued.
The promotion runs in two blocks, Aug. 24-29 and Aug. 31-Sep. 5. Nightly Stars tournaments themselves run Monday through Saturday at 6:40 p.m., giving players six chances a week to build a score.
As reported earlier this month, FanDuel Poker had said a leaderboard would be part of its September series. The new promotion is built around Nightly Stars, the daily $100 event that pokerfuse described as the backbone of the platform’s tournament schedule.
Nightly Stars was revamped in July, when the starting stack doubled from 5,000 chips to 10,000, late registration was pushed to the 400/800 blind level and guarantees were raised to $25,000 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and $22,500 on other days. PR Newswire said at the April launch of PokerStars exclusively on FanDuel that the product was available in Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and PokerNews said it also operated in Ontario. PokerNews described the prize ladder slightly differently, saying the top performer gets $500 in tickets and that prizes run to the 74th finisher, but the common thread is the same: rewards for consistent results in the nightly events.
