Playtech announced that it would expand its existing partnership with 888 Holdings, a move designed to help both companies grow their footprint in the US.
As part of the expanded partnership, London-based Playtech will provide its live casino and random number generator (RNG) products on 888casino, starting in New Jersey. Other states are expected to follow.
Currently, 888casino NJ is the operator’s only online casino in the US. It launched 888casino Ontario in April, but the expanded agreement with Playtech didn’t specify that it would apply in Canada.
Where 888 is Active in the US
According to 888’s most recent corporate presentation, released in May, the Gibraltar-based company has secured B2C market access in five US states (Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, New Jersey, and Virginia). It also has B2B access in another five (Delaware, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania).
Of those states, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania are the only ones with real money online casinos in the US.
888 has a monopoly in Delaware through a partnership with the Delaware Lottery and three racinos in the state — Delaware Park, Dover Downs, and Harrington. But each of the racinos uses branded skins for its online casino offerings.

More plausible would be the launches of 888casino in Michigan and Pennsylvania, but 888 would need to partner with a land-based casino before launching an online casino in either state.
Playtech COO Shimon Akad said the company was “thrilled” that 888 would eventually launch its live casino and RNG products into multiple US states. He characterized the move as “marking another exciting step in our expansion in the US.

Partnership Dates Back to February 2021
The partnership between 888 and Playtech was first formed in February 2021. At the time, the companies agreed to have 888casino host several Playtech live casino and RNG games on its platform.
Under the original partnership, Playtech agreed to host a bespoke 888-branded live casino studio in Riga, Latvia. The studio was to feature various live casino games and exclusive titles from Playtech, including Live Slots, Spin a Win, and Adventures Beyond Wonderland — the last being a live casino headline game show based on a Playtech slot of the same name.
