BetRivers Casino WV will soon offer popular games developed by Inspired Entertainment on its platform in the Mountain State, according to Rush Street Interactive (RSI), which owns the BetRivers brand.
In a joint statement, Inspired and RSI announced this month that they had signed a framework agreement, under which RSI will integrate Inspired’s Interactive content into its platforms in West Virginia, as well as Michigan and New Jersey. While online casino players in Michigan and New Jersey are likely already familiar with titles by Inspired because they are already offered in those states, Inspired games have yet to be offered in West Virginia.
RSI said it plans to launch four Inspired titles — including Santa King Megaways, Christmas Cashpots, and Big Spin Bonus — in all three states. BetRivers’ parent called Big Spin Bonus “Inspired’s top performer in the North American market” and added that it was a title “proven extremely popular” with online casino players. The Chicago-based company did not announce a date for the launch.
“RSI is a well-known operator with top gaming sites in key North American jurisdictions,” said Inspired COO Brooks Pierce. “This framework agreement allows us to launch our content with RSI in multiple markets and grow our North American presence. We are excited to expand our reach in the future with additional North American jurisdictions where RSI operates.”
Richard Schwartz, CEO of RSI, was equally effusive. “We are thrilled to add Inspired’s games to the RSI platform,” he said. “We pride ourselves on our exceptional content and the premier experience we offer our customers. Inspired has proven to be a top iGaming provider and we are looking forward to working with them on delivering an innovative online entertainment experience to our loyal players.”
Besides West Virginia, BetRivers Casino is currently live in Michigan and Pennsylvania. RSI has deployed its SugarHouse-branded online casino in New Jersey.
Six Online Casinos in WV
BetRivers Casino WV went live in April under the Mountaineer Casino license. Schwartz spoke briefly about the launch during an earnings call in November to discuss Q3 2021.
“We’ve continued to grow online casino shares since we entered the market back in April, and we are now approaching 10% market share,” the CEO said. “This is another market where launching an iOS app for the first time will be exciting for our players, and we expect will improve our player’s satisfaction.”
He later added that RSI’s success in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia had all been accomplished without an iOS app in those markets. “We are really eager to see the benefit of enhanced player engagement through our iOS casino app we launch in those markets.”
Six online casinos are currently live in West Virginia. The first, DraftKings, launched in July 2020 under the casino license of the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races. BetMGM followed suit in August 2020, under the license of the private Greenbrier resort.
William Hill — owned by Caesars Entertainment — joined BetRivers in launching an online casino under the Mountaineer license in April 2021, but it was rebranded as Caesars Casino WV in October. Meanwhile, FanDuel launched its online casino offering, also under the Greenbrier license, in May 2021.
Golden Nugget became the sixth online casino in the Mountain State when it launched under the Greenbrier license in September.
