The partypoker US Network, home of BetMGM Poker, is hosting a brand new Cheap Stakes Poker Tournament Series this December and will run across all of its skins — partypoker Online New Jersey, BetMGM Online Poker Michigan, and BetMGM Online Poker Pennsylvania.
The Series is scheduled to kick off on December 17 and run through December 26, with two unique poker tournaments hosted each day.
Unlike the recently-hosted End Boss Tournament Series, which came off as a great success across the Network, the Cheap Stakes Tournament Series will be catering toward low-stakes and recreational players looking to get into some poker action.
“Cheap Stakes provides low-stakes players a chance at great prizing on the heels of last month’s End Boss Series, during which we hosted events with higher stakes across the board,” said Luke Staudenmaier, BetMGM’s Director of Poker. “We’re thrilled to roll this out for the first time across all of our live markets.”
The End Boss Tournament Series saw BetMGM Poker Ambassador Darren Elias play out the whole New Jersey version of the Series for the first time in his new role.
While we don’t expect such high-profile players to participate in the Cheap Stakes Tournament Series, a solid turnout by lower-stakes tournament players is expected.
Each day of the tournament will see the operator host two events — one starting at 6:30 pm and the other at 8:00 pm — and each event will alternate between $20 and $50 buy-ins.
Cheap Stakes Tournament Series Highlights
The Cheap Stakes Tournament Series is scheduled to start on December 17, just ahead of the Christmas holidays, and offer $100,000 in guaranteed prize pools across the 20 events in each state.
The tournament guarantees are symmetrical to the buy-ins, which will be significantly lower for the Cheap Stakes Tournament Series than some other recently hosted tournament series at BetMGM.
BetMGM has been known for hosting poker tournaments with sizable guarantees lately, with quite a few of them offering an overlay to the players. It is a great incentive to get involved with this series, too, as some of the bigger events might not fully meet their guarantees.
