Atlanta-based GetPicks has closed a $3 million equity funding round backed by gaming-industry angel investors and operators, four months after launching its daily fantasy sports platform in June. The company said the capital would fund U.S. expansion and product development, including social-gaming and payment technology.
The investor group includes founders of publicly traded gaming companies, executives from major U.S. lottery and sweepstakes platforms, and operators associated with multibillion-dollar gaming-business exits, according to GetPicks’ announcement. GetPicks has not identified specific markets for expansion or a timetable for entering them.
Since launch, the platform has registered more than 35,000 users, awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars in prizes and become available in 21 states. It offers player-stat contests across football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, cricket and esports, including the NFL, NBA and MLS.
GetPicks has made payment speed central to its pitch, saying its infrastructure processes withdrawals in under five seconds, including at weekends and on holidays. A separate company page says users can withdraw USDC directly to a wallet on Base, typically in under 60 seconds, without connecting a bank account.
The product lets users choose whether a player will finish above or below a projected statistic, combine two to six picks into a lineup and compete for prizes in a matched group. Prizes can be earned by completing a Perfect Lineup or finishing with the Top Score.
Its social features allow players to publish lineups, follow other users, review picks and copy a full lineup in one tap. Creators can receive rewards when others copy their selections, while referral programmes and in-app incentives are intended to build participation and community growth. The social features are intended to encourage interaction beyond individual contests, supporting customer acquisition and retention.
GetPicks plans to expand its creator and community programmes, add social features and grow in eligible U.S. markets as the NBA season gets underway.
