Four states, three separate series — the WSOP Online Circuit extravaganza has kicked off for players in New Jersey, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and the newly launched WSOP Michigan.

It marks the very first time that WSOP.com is offering players a chance to win a piece of gold jewelry in all of its markets simultaneously and the very first time that Michiganders get a chance to win some of that coveted bling.

Across the four states, a total of more than $2 million is guaranteed spread over 36 individual ring events running on the exact same dates, spanning through May 1.

New Jersey & Nevada share the same player pool — hence the players from these two states are competing against each other while Pennsylvania and Michigan online poker players have their own discrete series.

The WSOP NJ & NV series guarantees a little over $1 million while the Circuit series at WSOP PA and WSOP MI — which have the exact same schedule — promise just over half a million.

Buy-ins are a bit more expensive on the shared liquidity network — starting at $215 and averaging $360 throughout the series. The PA & MI schedules have $109 buy-ins as the cheapest option and $1000 as the most expensive event. The average buy-in per event across both series is around $320.

Guarantees for all three of the series promise five figures ranging from $35,000 to $250,000 for WSOP NJ/NV and $15,000 to $100,000 for WSOP PA & MI. The Main Event has the same buy-in across every state costing $525 to enter and guaranteeing $250,000 for players in the Garden State and Silver State and $100,000 in the Great Lakes State and Keystone State.

Every day, one event is scheduled comprising a decent option of freezeouts, knockouts, turbos, and more. Satellites are underway with buy-ins as low as $5.

As the name would imply, every event awards an official WSOP gold ring to the winner on top of the first-place prize money. Furthermore, the winners also earn a seat at the “*Tournament of Champions*” giving away $1 million in prize money and a chance to win the coveted WSOP gold bracelet.

The Tournament of Champions is scheduled to take place at the upcoming WSOP 2022 live series in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 18. Only the winners of a gold ring or bracelet event during the 2022 season prior to the event are eligible to compete in this exclusive event.

While the WSOP.com online circuit series are nothing new, in fact, they are held regularly across the three states, the Michigan Online Circuit series is being held for the first time.

Late last month, WSOP set its footprint in its fourth US state, becoming the third online poker operator to go live in the Wolverine State. So far, the new site is off to a roaring start, taking the number two spot in the market, after PokerStars MI.

WSOP MI Attracting Bigger Turnout than WSOP PA

Despite the Pennsylvania market being a bit bigger in size compared to Michigan, the newly launched WSOP MI is doing much better in attracting bigger turnouts in tournaments including in the ongoing circuit series.

For instance, the opening $109 PKO event on April 20 attracted 501 entries to create a prize pool of $50,100. The same event in Pennsylvania drew 325 entries for a total prize pool of $32,500. The second event — a $215 buy-in PKO — drew 442 entries in MI and 336 in PA, creating a difference of over $21k in the prize pool created.

First Two Events Comparison – WSOP MI vs WSOP PA

Event #1: $109 PKO Event #2: $215 PKO
WSOP MI 501 Entries, $50,100 Prize Pool 442 Entries, $88,400 Prize Pool
WSOP PA 325 Entries, $32,500 Prize Pool 336 Entries, $67,200 Prize Pool

Of course, WSOP MI has the advantage of the hype it has created since its launch, and the novelty is likely to wear off over the next couple of months. Still, even if just comparing the two markets’ early days, WSOP MI has done much better than its counterpart WSOP PA.
